Declan took the glass from him and swallowed a more generous amount than Pete might have expected. Obviously the man wasn’t just drop-dead sexy. He could also handle his liquor. Which posed Pete with a very nagging question. What else could he handle?
“So, you say you have a proposition for me, huh? That sounds rather ominous. Care to elaborate?” Pete asked.
“Before we go any further, I have to ask that what we talk about remains between us. It will eventually go public, but I’d like to keep the lid on things until we go live.”
To say Pete’s curiosity was piqued would be an understatement. “Okay, now you’ve really got my attention. But, you have yourself a deal. I won’t say a word to anyone. Although I’m not sure who I would tell anyway.”
Declan reached in his pocket, got out a business card, and slid it across the Formica table. Pete glanced at the elegant black card. With silver writing it read, Declan Designs. He turned it over and read the back which said, designing your dream, planning your party, excelling in extravagance.
“Umm… you’re a party planner?” Pete asked, more confused now than ever.
“I was a party planner. I got burned out really fast. Now, I’d like to think of myself as a dream maker.”
Pete smirked and took a swig of his beer. “Riiiiiiiight. Isn’t that something the spider says to the fly right before he eats him?”
“Okay, I’m being too vague. Here’s the deal. I’ve done lots of big parties, with big names in Hollywood. I’m coordinating with a local television station to do a dream giveaway for ten lucky winners. Not just lucky, but less fortunate, the kind of people who deserve nice things in life, but can’t afford it. I plan their party and pick up the tab. They pay nothing. That’s where you come in.”
“Look, I don’t know what you heard, but I’m not rich by any stretch of the imagination. Your idea sounds admirable and I do okay for myself, but I can hardly help you foot the bill for a bunch of people’s parties.”
Declan laughed. “You think I want you to pay for it? Right, because that’s what I do, search out random strangers and ask them to put money into a project. Give me a little credit, would you? I’m here because I hear you’re an up-and-coming chef. I want you to cook for me.”
Pete stopped in mid drink and set his beer bottle down. “Seriously?”
“Yeah, seriously. Your reputation says you’re a good chef, and from what I hear you’re one of those good-guy types, always doing a little something extra to help people out. Judging from what I saw here tonight, I’d say that assessment is right on.”
Pete looked at the man who waltzed into his parent’s pool hall not too long ago and nearly knocked him on his ass with his good looks. He had charisma, from what he could tell, a good personality, and now he wanted to bring Pete on board for a project that threw parties for people who were less fortunate?
He still worked full time as a private chef to several clients who bought well packages through local health clubs, but there was no reason he couldn’t do a little something on the side. Not to mention he wouldn’t mind spending some extra time, a little bit of one-on-one time with the hottie who went by Declan.
“Giving back to others, huh? I don’t know. It sounds like it could be fun. I’m assuming there’s no pay involved and my services would be pro-bono?”
Declan nodded. “Will that be a problem?”
Pete thought about it for a minute, not because he needed to, but because Declan’s eyes were such an exquisite color of green he couldn’t help but stare into them. They were mesmerizing. After looking into them for probably a few seconds longer than he should have, he realized that there probably wasn’t anything Declan asked for that he didn’t get.
The man was utterly gorgeous. Whether it was cooking for the less fortunate, or taking down a pool hustler together, Pete was fairly certain that he would have a hard time saying no to this man. Not that he even wanted to, but still he felt like he should play at least a little hard to get. Shouldn’t he?
“So, what do you say?” Declan asked.
“Let’s do it. Sounds like it could be fun. Besides, my mom loves it when her baby boy does something good. This should earn me brownie points.”
“Fantastic! Let’s have a toast then.” Declan raised his glass and continued, “Here’s to the beginning of a wonderful new venture.”
A new venture, a new adventure, and who knew what else. One thing was for sure. Pete was going to have quite a lot of fun working with the dream designer, Declan.
Pete raised his Heineken and clanked his glass together with Declan’s. “Cheers.”

STORY EXCERPT

Alec still couldn’t put his finger on it. There was something different, something almost even special about this man who dressed in clothes that probably should’ve been retired long ago.
Most men, most people wouldn’t do work for free, just to help others out. While it would be a much nicer world if more did subscribe to that way of thinking, Alec knew they lived in a society today where most people didn’t do something unless it benefited themselves.
He considered the possibility that was what had stood out to him, but the truth of it was, he’d felt this way from the moment Tyler stepped out of his office to greet him. His first sight of him was filled with contradicting thoughts. He was ordinary, but he wasn’t. He was plain, but he wasn’t. He was boring, but he wasn’t.
The conflicting thoughts were maddening, and it was driving him crazy trying to figure out why he specifically ordered a pizza in time, just to be sure it would be delivered before his attorney arrived. He wanted him to stay for dinner, he hoped he would, but he didn’t have a clue why. What was driving him even more insane was why in the hell Alec couldn’t take his eyes off of him.
“Oh my God. That was amazing.” Tyler pushed his plate away and sank back against the cushions of the couch.
Alec smiled and nodded. He was almost too full to respond, but he couldn’t resist the urge to get a jab in at the amount of food his attorney ate.
“You sure you had enough? I mean we could order another if those five pieces didn’t fill you up.”
Tyler had his hand on his belly. “Sorry. I can eat a lot.”
“I’d never guess it by the looks of you. Do you work out a lot?”
“Me? Hell no. Should I? Yeah! But I just don’t have the time for it like I used to. You know how it is. Too many hours at work, and before you know it you’re too exhausted to do much of anything, much less exercise.”
“Umm…actually, no, I don’t know what that’s like. But I hope to soon.”
“Sorry. See, when it comes to food, I lose all my manners. I didn’t mean any disrespect.”
“No worries,” Alec assured him. “I’m doing what I can to get out of my rut. I’ll get there. It’ll just take some time is all.”
“That’s a good attitude to have, man. I know this may sound strange, but I envy you.”
Surprised, Alec raised his brow. “You envy a man who’s been out of work, who’s had cancer and has virtually nothing to his name?”
“Sorry, maybe that was a poor choice of words. I meant I envy your determination. You could have sat around feeling sorry for yourself, or looked for handouts wherever you could find them, but instead you sold what you could and got your health in check. Most people wouldn’t have been that disciplined. Which is why I envy you. I have zero in the discipline department.”
“I wouldn’t say that. You’re an attorney. Last I heard they just don’t hand out law degrees and let people skate by on the bar exam. You must have worked hard for it.”
“Yeah. Maybe. At the time it didn’t seem like that hard of work. It was just me doing my thing, you know? Now that I’m getting old, I notice things creeping up on me. A few speckles of gray hair, less energy, lines on my face that never used to be there.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, how old are you?”
“Nah, I don’t mind. I’m thirty-six, but it feels like I’m going on fifty some days.”
The sound of a phone ringing interrupted their casual conversation. Alec didn’t recognize the ringtone, so he knew it wasn’t his. Tyler fumbled around in his pocket until he pulled out an iPhone. The expression on his face caught Alec by surprise. He looked as though he’d been caught doing something he shouldn’t be.
“Hello?”
Alec pretended not to listen to the woman on the other end of the line. Something about just hearing her voice irritated him. His annoyance grew that much more when he heard Tyler apologize for not calling and further explaining that he had dinner with a client. Alec got up from the couch and took their plates to the kitchen in an effort to get rid of the pit that formed in his stomach.
He set the plates on his counter and grabbed a bottle of water from his refrigerator, thinking maybe the sinking feeling that overcame him may be the onset of nausea. After all, it had been a very long time since he’d eaten anything quite so bad for him. His system could be going into shock. Hell, his arteries were probably as clear as a mountain river until he ate three pieces of the delicious, double-cheese pizza.
“Sorry about that.”
Alec turned to see Tyler standing in the entryway to the kitchen. In his hands was the pizza tray, now completely empty with only a couple mushrooms left behind.
“No problem.” He took the tray and set it in the sink. “I guess that’s what it’s like when you’re married. Got to check in every so often. You can’t just go off the grid.”
Tyler laughed. “Married? Oh no. That wasn’t my wife. I’m not married.”
“Oh, well, girlfriend then, whatever. I’m just saying—”
“She’s not my girlfriend either.”
Alec was surprised by his quick interruption. Tyler’s expression seemed too serious for his liking, and it made him feel ill at ease. He had no right to grill the man about his personal life anyway. It wasn’t like he was interested in him. He hadn’t been interested in anyone for a long time. His dating days may have been a long time ago, but surely he’d know if he was attracted toward someone. Wouldn’t he?

ADULT EXCERPT

“Don’t…we shouldn’t…”
“I can’t help myself. I want you so badly, baby. And I can feel how bad you want it, too. Please, let me taste you. Let me suck on your big cock. Fuck my mouth,” Tyler pleaded.
Alec’s eyes grew wide as they stared back at him in the mirror. If Tyler wasn’t mistaken, he’d almost swear he saw fear in them.
“Baby, don’t be scared,” he tried to assure him. Not wanting whatever was bothering him to win the debate.
Once again, Alec moved away. His movements hurried as he flicked off the light and fumbled in his dresser drawer. Then as quickly as he left, he returned to face Tyler, holding a tube of lube.
“I want you to fuck me,” Alec said with a shaky voice.
Tyler was no fool. It was obvious Alec wanted him, but there was something in his actions that worried him. No matter how much he would love to sink his cock inside of Alec’s sweet ass, he wouldn’t do it unless Alec was completely sure.
Lifting his hand to stroke the side of Alec’s cheek, he whispered, “Are you sure? I feel like there’s something you’re—”
“I’m sure. Just…don’t turn on the lights, okay? I’m…shy.”
Tyler was about to question him again. There was something in his voice that just didn’t ring true. Any chance of his conscious thoughts forming words flew right out the window as soon as Alec’s firm fingers wrapped around his cock and began teasingly stroking it.
He dropped his head back and hissed out a breath. “You keep doing that and I’m liable to take you up on your offer.”
Alec placed the tube of lube in Tyler’s hand and walked around him to the bed. Tyler turned, watching his movements in the dimly lit room. Only the light from the hallway shone, casting an oversized shadow of Alec against the opposite wall. His hard cock stood at attention and looked unbelievably long with the trickery of light as he crawled onto the bed.
The image was Tyler’s undoing. His dick already throbbed with anticipation of what it may be like to be squeezed snug inside Alec’s ass. The possibility of declining his request would be nothing short of idiotic. He wanted it. They both wanted it.
Tyler popped the cap and squeezed a generous amount of slippery jelly onto his cock. The harsh coldness of it startled him and caused his balls to draw up, nearly crawling up inside his body.
Stroking to alleviate the discomfort, he quickly regained his composure and moved over to where Alec was straddled on the bed. His upper body was leaning down, lying on a pillow, while his ass stood up in the air, almost taunting him to come and get it.
With some of the jelly left on his hand, Tyler began working the clear gel past the seam in Alec’s ass. He had been about to slide his fingers past the glory hole when Alec did the work for him. Pushing his ass back further, Tyler’s two fingers disappeared into the puckered hole. He felt the muscles contract around his digits just as Alec started to moan.
The sound awoke every primal urge inside of him. He felt like an animal ready to pounce on its prey. What a pretty prey it was, too. He would attack and ravish Alec just like a predator, and he’d enjoy every second of it.
Tyler bent over, kissing the small of Alec’s back and licking a trail of enticing circles on his skin. His cock twitched at the taste. The mixture of sweat and whatever soap Alec used was like an aphrodisiac luring him to his fate.
He used his left hand to spread Alec’s cheek away from the crack in his ass and bent his knees while pressing the head of his cock at the tiny entrance.
“Are you ready?” he asked.
“Yes…God, yes. Just fuck me.”
Alec’s voice no longer held the hesitance he heard moments earlier. Even if it was there, he might not have heard it. The rush of blood and pounding of his heart probably drowned out any sense of reason or rational thinking. This wasn’t about anything other than a connection that was stronger than anything he’d ever felt before. This wasn’t just something he wanted. Alec was someone he had to have.
Inhaling and holding his breath, Tyler pushed his head past the viselike grip of Alec’s ass and, with a forceful thrust, buried himself inside. His balls drew up tight against Alec’s cheeks, and a pulsating hold grabbed onto him.
Alec screamed from the intrusion, though he didn’t move. Instead he held himself there, his ass sticking up in the dark room as a thousand muscles began vibrating all along the length of Tyler’s cock.
“Oh fuck…Jesus…You’re so fucking tight,” Tyler said. He was barely able to complete his thoughts, much less a whole sentence.
Alec was the first of them to move. He could have stayed there, frozen in time while Alec’s body worked him to orgasm. When he felt the first rock of Alec’s hip, thrusting for the both of them, he almost passed out from the intensity of it. It may have been a while, probably far too long since he’d enjoyed the pleasure of fucking a man’s ass, but there was something about Alec’s ass that went far beyond mere pleasure. It was fucking spectacular.

Sultry SoCal Book 3 Excite Me by Taylor Brooks

Excite Me (MM)Phillip Archer spent the past ten years playing as a starting defensive end in the NFL. After a career-ending injury he was forced to rethink his life, and his future. Stepping down from the hustle and bustle of the limelight and taking a job as the offensive coordinator of a small Pac-12 school seemed like the perfect remedy to get things back on track and kick-start this new chapter in his life.

Richard Olson was single, independent, and loving life in Southern California. He had his career that he loved as a veteran lifestyle reporter for the local news, and that was all he needed to keep him happy and warm at night. Or so he thought. The day he ran into his old college crush Phillip, all bets were off.

The only question that remains is who will win, or if perhaps they both end up playing for keeps in a game of winner-take-all.

They had talked for a while, going between casual chatting, to seeing who could out smart-ass the other and just plain catching up on where their lives had taken them. Even knowing that he was just reconnecting with Richard after so many years, in some ways he felt like they hadn’t skipped a beat.
He retrieved two glasses and a carton of orange juice from the kitchen and placed them in front of the plates. Then he surveyed the breakfast he made with a curious eye. A chef, he certainly was not, but he usually couldn’t screw up eggs and bacon. Usually being the key word of course. He hoped this wasn’t going to be one of those days where he got a little too liberal with the salt and pepper.
At least the bacon was cooked perfectly, not a lot of grease and just the right about of crisp. He would have made hash browns, too, if he had thought to buy any. Eggs were a part of his protein shakes, and bacon was always a staple in his house. Potatoes on the other hand, those were a different story. He saved that carbohydrate filled luxury for when he went out to eat.
Phillip eyed the hallway curiously, wondering what could be keeping Phillip. Tons of insecurities flooded his mind with possibilities of Richard having regrets about their night together last night. What if he was in the bathroom right now trying to concoct a plausible story to escape as quickly as possible, he wondered.
What would he say to his guest who was so eager to leave? Would he politely allow him to leave? Or would he stand in front of him, kiss him, and seduce him until he agreed to spend the day with him? What would he do if Richard rejected him? Sure Richard had told him he liked him, but he had also just gotten his cock sucked off until he came. There was always the possibility he was still lost in the moment when he’d said it.
Ugh. He hated this. Being insecure and unsure of himself wasn’t a personality trait that Phillip was used to. He was confident and hardly ever cared what anyone thought. Hell, if Richard didn’t throw a wrench in that way of thinking though.
His mother had called him picky before. That was nothing compared to how picky he was now. Instead of nit-picking over other men’s pros and cons, he would now be able to take one quick glance at every man in the world and know they were not good enough, because they were not Richard Olson. Only one man could satisfy him now, and that man was currently driving him crazy while he waited out here at the table.
The lack of silverware and napkins sitting beside the plates grabbed his attention. It was enough to distract him for a few moments while he grabbed them from the kitchen and set them perfectly parallel to the dishes.
It worked for only a moment. His ability to ignore his absent houseguest went right out the window. His nerves were now on full alert, just as his insecurities were, and he was more than a little worried as to what was keeping him. He had to know what was preventing Richard from coming out here and facing him.
Even if it was bad, he had to find out if Richard had doubts.
Cautiously he walked toward the hallway, his footsteps purposely quiet, although he wasn’t sure why. His intention wasn’t to sneak up on Richard. Despite this he was all but tiptoeing through his own condo as if he was a mouse trying not to wake the humans who lived here.
He stopped when he reached the archway which led to his back bedrooms and bathroom. He could see the bathroom was dark and the door was open. Directly across the hall he could also see a hand outstretched and leaning on the doorway.
His heart fluttered for a moment when he realized that Richard was in his bedroom. It was where he’d wanted to take him last night, but his irrational fear that he may run for the door if he dared to wake him up prevented him from moving his peacefully sleeping lover.
He closed the distance between himself and Richard quickly. When he reached the opening to the doorway he closed his right hand over Richard’s and wrapped his left arm around his waist.
Kissing the side of his neck, he whispered, “There you are.”
“Mmm…” Richard leaned into him.
“I was worried you got lost.”
Richard moaned. “I did in a way. This place is beautiful.” He turned around and faced Phillip before continuing, “I’m sorry. I know it probably seems like I was snooping, but…Well, okay I was a little, but not in the way that you might think. I love old buildings like this. I was curious to see if it was just as luxurious as the rest of the place was.”
“It’s okay, babe. I don’t mind. I would’ve had us sleep in here last night anyway, had we not fallen asleep on the couch.”
“Yeah, about that. Phillip, last night was…”
“Yeah?” Phillip asked, full of hope and literally hanging on every word.
Richard smiled. “It was incredible.”
Relief washed over him. He’d needed to hear that. “Yeah, it was pretty amazing.”
Richard wrapped his arms around Phillip and laced his fingers together behind his neck. “For me it was. But, not so much for you.”
“That’s where you’re wrong. Being with you last night, doing what I did to you. It was…unbelievable.”
“How can that be though? I mean, don’t you want to…you know…feel good, too?”
Phillip cupped Richard’s cheeks with his palms, carefully cradling the man who was chipping away at the shell that protected his heart with every passing second.

Kira’s Warriors by Elle Boon

Kira’s Warriors

Kira lived the life of a pampered princess of a wealthy Japanese man who mourned the loss of his son, and missing wife. She’d been given everything a girl could want, but nobody was allowed close enough to love or hurt her. All that changed when her life was threatened and he hired the Ravens as her security.

Thane and Garrick never expected to find their Fated, let alone that she’d be touched by a god. The legend of the Kitsune was steeped in mystery, but they’d need all the help they could get to save their Fated from the god who possessed her brother. They’d need to travel into the deepest levels of hell, and fight the Shinigami to save her and her brother.

Kira realizes Thane and Garrick would give up their own lives to give her the family she’d never had. She would fight to hold onto the best things she could ever ask for, her warriors.

Adult Excerpt

Thane stood, Kira’s juices coating his lips and chin.

Garrick watched her pull Thane to her, trailing her tongue against the seam of his lips. “Goddess, I love how firm your mouth is,” Kira said.

“I love how you taste.” Thane licked his lips. “Do you like how you taste, kitten?”

Turning her face to him, Garrick saw the blush she couldn’t hide. Her eyes were cloudy with desire. He smoothed his hand down her flat stomach, loving how wet and silky she got, tight like a fist around them. He swore nothing had ever felt better. Nothing ever would.

The bed dipped behind them, but he couldn’t take his eyes off Kira. He sucked in a swift breath, trying to remember where he wanted to be was inside his Fated’s body. She mesmerized him with her beauty.

“Kira, climb up here,” Thane said.

Garrick helped her maneuver around to face Thane. His best friend held his arms out while Kira crawled up the big bed like the kitten they called her. He groaned at the sight of her perfect ass as she moved on all fours toward Thane, her pussy playing a game of peek-a-boo with him. Her cream from the orgasm still coated her thighs.

He waited until she was positioned over Thane and watched her slide down, taking him inside, before he moved behind her. Garrick could be patient.

“I need you, too, G. I want you both, hard and fast. I need to feel you inside me when I come, and I want to do that around you, surrounded by my warriors.” Kira groaned, moving up and down on Thane.

Garrick slipped his fingers between Thane and her, testing how wet she was, seeing how ready she truly was. Her slickness coated his fingers. Their girl was perfect.

Thane pulled Kira down, taking control of her movements while Garrick ran his hands over her backside. He carefully prepared her for him, inserting one finger at a time in her rear channel. He made sure to add lube before adding a second finger. She gasped and thrust back against him as if she wanted more.

“Easy, Kira. You need to let me make sure you’re ready.” Garrick grit his teeth at the feelings Thane was sharing.

She pushed back again, her hips swiveling. “I’m more than ready.”

The noises she made were reassuring.

He had three fingers deep inside, scissoring them while Thane held Kira in place. Garrick used his powers to add more lubricant, and then pulled his fingers back.

A generous coating was applied to his dick as he placed the head against the puckered opening. “Hold her open for me, Thane,” Garrick said between clenched teeth.

The first inch slipped in, and she tightened around his cock. Both he and Thane fought for control, not wanting to injure her.

When he was seated fully inside, he held completely still, his breath sawing out like he’d run ten miles. The spiral path opened up, allowing them into Kira’s thoughts. It was like coming home to Garrick. He sucked in air, trying to remember when he’d ever felt so extremely satisfied.

She giggled.

“What are you laughing at, woman?” Thane asked.

“Are you hearing his thoughts? He’s satisfied and he isn’t even moving.”

Straddling Thane’s legs, Garrick swatted Kira’s ass, a light tap meant to tease, not hurt, causing her rounded flesh to quiver and her ass to tighten even further. “I think our Fated liked that, Thane.”

Garrick pulled back, his hands gripping her slim hips, and set up a slow rhythm. He and Thane worked in counterpoint. One of them had their dick buried deep inside her heat at a time, while the other pulled back.

Sweat covered him, even with his ability to regulate his body temperature. A light sheen coated her body.

“I’m not gonna last much longer, G.”

Garrick wrapped one arm around Kira’s chest, pulling her shoulders back into him, granting Thane access to her clit. “Play with her clit, Thane. Make her come.” Without another word, his friend reached between Kira’s thighs. Her clit was so hard and swollen, it wouldn’t take but a few strokes to get her off. Hell, he was so ready it wouldn’t take him but a few strokes, but first, they wanted to make Kira come.

Her hips bucked, and she threw her head back. “Oh, oh, y—yes,” Kira hissed.

A heartbeat later, her orgasm struck, clamping down on them like a wild convulsion. Their strokes increased in speed, becoming rough and uncontrolled. He flicked Thane a look, naked need written on his face, and with a nod, they both let go.

Garrick groaned. The knowledge Thane was as lost to sensation as he was pushed him even closer to the edge. Kira’s moans joined theirs, sending delight through him knowing she was already climbing the peak again. With every stroke into her ass or pussy, she whimpered.

The air was thick with their combined scents. The smell of Kira’s arousal permeated the room. Every breath he took, he smelled Kira, building pressure in his balls, filling him with the need to come.

“Ah, fuck, I’m gonna come.” Garrick groaned.

A bead of sweat trickled down Thane’s temple. “Me, too, kitten. Come for us one more time. Squeeze our cocks.” Thane started hammering in and out of her pussy.

Whether it was the raw words or the wild movements of the man beneath her that pushed Kira over, Garrick couldn’t care less. The moment she started to come, her greedy little pussy and ass began pulsing around Thane and him, and they, too, fell over the edge. He roared out his pleasure, while Thane swore in several languages. Garrick’s balls drew up, full of semen, his seed spurting from his dick like it never wanted to quit. In perfect sync, Thane released, his voice equally hoarse by the time he was spent.

Author Interview:

1.      Author Name: Elle Boon

2.      Where do you live? (part of the country or state or world) I live in Missouri, almost smack dab in the middle of Merica (lol)

3.      When did you first publish? My one year contract signing date is actually January 28th 2015. Soo excited. My first book came out on April 3, 2014 with Siren.

4.      How many books have you published? As of today I have 4 books out and my 5th is coming out on January 29th, 2015 which is Kira’s Warriors book 4 in the Ravens of War.

5.      Which of your characters do you see yourself in the most? I sort of put a little of myself in all of my female characters. In each story I find myself weaving a little bit of real life into their stories. For instance in Selena’s Men I have Selena getting on top the bar and dancing. I actually have done this a time or two. In Two For Tamara there is a scene where one of the ladies says “I don’t do girls” this was an actual conversation me and one of my bffs had after one too many drinks, and we were laughing and drinking. Long story short the guys were chanting “kiss kiss kiss” and she turns and says “I don’t do grills” yess I spelled that right lol.

6.      What has been the most time consuming or mentally challenging research you have done for a book? I think for Kira’s book because it’s set a lot in Japan and spans back 20 plus years. There is a lot of folklore and things that has changed during the timeframe and I wanted to get it right. I loved it!

7.      What does an average day for you consist of?  What is your writing schedule like? I get up, get my Goob, aka my 14 yr old off to school and then get online. After that I go over what I’ve written and try to write. Try being the key sometimes. I turn my playlist on, which is rock. My choice of music freaks people out, because they look at me and see my choice of music lol. I love love love rock. J

8.      Please tell us about your newest release. Kira’s Warriors is book 4 in the Ravens of War. She’s is like all my other heroines, a fierce woman who is worthy of two men lol. Garrick and Thane are both demi-gods created by Zeus who were sent as protectors only to find she wasn’t quite 100% human. It’s action packed and full of lots of the other Ravens as well as a steamy read J

9.      Do you have a current work in progress?  Can you tell us about it? I just finished His Perfect Wolf, book 2 in The Mystic Wolves series. I still have to edit and submit to my publisher, but I really love it. It’s the follow up to Accidentally Wolf and Niall’s story. I’m also working on a self-pub that I plan to release on March 16th called SmokeJumper. SmokeJumper is about a Native American who is a smokejumper which is a specialized firefighter who is called back to his hometown by his grandfather. Of course he’s much more than just an ordinary man, he’s also an elemental. I love my paranormal romance and of course all my stories are steamy reads <3 data-blogger-escaped-o:p="">

Being a fireman, his head always has to be in the game, with no distractions from his personal life.

Walt opened the door to the bathroom and turned on the light. “Easy. Just like you did when you were a little boy and your mother was teaching you how to use the big boy potty.”
“Huh?”
Walt laughed. “Just sit down on the toilet. Point, and aim. Easy peasy.”
“Oh.” Tag joined him in laughing at himself. “Sorry. It’s been a long time since then.”
“No worries.”
Walt helped settle him on the seat and hung the IV bag on the wall hook next to the toilet. It was then when he started to walk out of the bathroom that Tag stopped him by tugging on his hand.
“Are you okay?”
“I just wanted to say thank you.”
Walt offered him a sincere smile. Even with the remnants of soot which still outlined his face and his mussed up hair, the fireman was not only charming, but incredibly polite. Whoever managed to hook him was one lucky man, or woman.
“You don’t have to thank me. I’m here to help.”
“I know, but…I like your help.”
Walt’s pulse began to race when Tag gently rubbed his thumb across the front of his hand. If he didn’t know any better, he would swear that the room temperature shot up a good twenty degrees in the past few seconds.
“I’m glad I can be here to help you,” Walt replied and quietly closed the door.
I’m glad I can be here to help you? What the hell was that? Nicely done, Walt. He sounded like a damn idiot. This was why he didn’t date much. He sucked at talking to people he was attracted to.
He stood on the other side of the bathroom door while he waited for Tag to finish. Walt used the time to collect his thoughts and get his head out of the clouds. The fireman was just being nice to him. That’s all there was to it. The gentle brush of his finger on his hands was nothing more than a patient thanking his nurse. Nothing more, nothing less.
The flush of the toilet woke him from his daydreams. “All finished?” he called to the other side of the door.
“Yeah, just give me a second.”
All finished. What was that? Stupid, asinine comment number two in as many minutes? Good Lord, Walt. If you keep this up, you’re liable to label yourself a complete and total nimrod in no time at all.
“Jesus.”
The distress in Tag’s voice worried Walt. Abruptly he opened the door to see what had happened.
Tag was leaning over the sink, holding on with so much force that his knuckles were white. His expression looked grim as he stared at his reflection.
“What’s wrong? Did you lose your balance? Are you okay?”
“Have you seen me? I am two shades away from looking like death. Even my five o’clock shadow looks grungy.”
Walt sighed. “Are you serious? You scared me. I thought…” He shook his head. “Never mind what I thought. Let’s get you back to bed.”
“No.” Tag looked at him in the looking glass. “Tell me. What did you think?”
“I thought you hurt yourself.”
“And that worried you?”
Walt felt himself being sucked in to his patient. This gorgeous fireman who was injured in the line of duty and, despite his haggard appearance, was the sexiest man he’d seen in a very long time. He had to stop his mind from getting carried away and put some professional distance between the two of them.
“You’re my patient. It’s my job to take care of you.”
“Oh. Yeah. I know that.”
The patient he tried to distance himself from suddenly seemed all too real. He could almost swear he saw disappointment in his eyes. Had it been his imagination? What was it about this man that made him off balance?
“So, are you ready to get back in bed?”
He wanted to kick himself for the way he worded the question. For some reason everything he said seemed to come out wrong, have a different context or a hidden meaning, too.
“Can you help me get a little cleaned up first? I feel like death warmed over.”
“Sure. Give me just a second.”
Walt went out to the cabinet adjacent to Tag’s bed and got two washcloths and a small, trial-size bottle of their all-in-one soap. He then went back into the bathroom and set the items down next to the sink.
“Here, let’s get you seated back down while I warm up the water.”
He put down the lid cover and helped Tag get settled on the seat before turning on the water. The steam rose after only a minute, and he turned on the cold to adjust it to the perfect temperature of hot, just not scalding.
Unfolding the washcloth and laying it in the sink, he did his best to ignore the hairs which stood up on the back of his neck. He was being watched. He could feel Tag’s eyes on him as sure as he could feel the warmth of the water. Then he squirted a liberal amount of soap into the wet washcloth and picked it up, squeezing the excess water and allowing the suds to work into every inch of the terry cloth.
When he turned to look at Tag he hadn’t been wrong. His chocolate-brown eyes were piercing him with an intent stare. What he wouldn’t give to know what the man was thinking.

Sultry SoCal Book 1 Take Me by Taylor Brooks

Take Me (MM)Clint Rodham has spent years being a loyal employee to Elite Imports. Despite being one of their top salesmen, his boss no longer sees him as the golden boy. Now being ostracized for his sexuality, he fights to keep the job that he not only loves, but is a natural at.

Rick Tanner just moved to Southern California from Kansas. Being a homosexual personal trainer in a small town filled with old-fashioned people who didn’t understand his way of life left him with little career opportunities.

One hot summer night, Rick is locked on the rooftop and Clint comes to his rescue. As a thank-you, he offers his hero a cold beer. With the California heat rising and desires building, the two find themselves in a storm of passion. Neither of them are able to resist. Neither of them want to. The atmosphere between them was casual, but Rick was growing impatient. It was all he could do to not make a move on his new friend. He wasn’t sure if he was just horny or there was really something about Clint that he was drawn to.
“So what do you do?” Rick asked.
“For the time being, I sell cars. That’s what I’ve done for the past eight years anyway.”
“Sounds like more than just a passing job then.”
Clint downed the last of his beer and set it on the ground beside him. “It wasn’t my intended career path, but I’ve been damn good at it until recently.”
“Economy, huh? Yeah, that’s why I moved out here, too. There wasn’t a lot of room to grow in my profession in Kansas.”
“Kansas?” Clint laughed. “Shit, I didn’t know people still lived there. Is it even still a state?”
Rick was happy to see his neighbor’s sense of humor come out. He liked someone who didn’t take life too seriously.
“Yeah, you’d think it was just a desolate land wouldn’t you? But, they have electricity and everything now.”
Clint placed a hand on Rick’s shoulder. “I was just messing with you, man. Living my whole life in California, we get used to a certain way of life. It gets hard for us natives to even imagine the Midwest.”
The brief moment that Clint had touched him caused an electric charge to course through his body. He wished that his hand had lingered just a bit longer. He was having a hard time getting a reading on this guy.
“No worries. I get it.” He gulped down the last of his beer and set his empty bottle on the ground next to Clint’s.
“So, no one’s buying cars anymore, huh?”
Clint let out a sigh and crossed his arms over his chest. His feet started shaking back and forth in what Rick assumed was nervous energy. Whatever was bugging the man was obviously doing a number on every aspect of his life.
“Hey, I didn’t mean to pry,” Rick said.
“Nah. It’s not that. I sell luxury sports cars. Top of the line, in fact. I’m damn good at it, too. My problem isn’t the economy. My problem is my boss. Ever since my boss found out that…well, let’s just say things have changed around the dealership in the past few months.”
Rick didn’t miss how quickly Clint had stopped himself from what he was about to say. It intrigued him that such an attractive man seemed so obviously concerned with what others thought. He didn’t want to push the issue despite his eagerness to learn more.
“Want another beer?”
“I don’t know. It’s been a long day. Maybe I should head back on up to my place.” Clint rose from his chair and stood at the railing.
“You sure? I mean, you did save me from a night of solitude on the roof. The least I could do is share my beer with you.”
“What do you do?” Clint asked, ignoring the offer of another beer.
“For all intents and purposes, I’m a personal trainer. At least that’s what my new job out here is. But my resume doesn’t stop there.”
It was with purpose that Rick hadn’t elaborated. He still was having a hard time gauging his guest’s mood. If Clint was interested in hearing more, he would ask, and if not he would just ignore the open-ended statement.
“Oh yeah? Sounds either ominous or secretive. What else do you do? Or would you have to kill me if you told me?”
Rick couldn’t help but smile. He heard Clint chuckle, but his back was still turned to him as he looked out over the valley. Clint wasn’t giving him too many clues about what made him tick, but this little hint of interest was just the incentive he needed to continue the quest of getting to know his new neighbor.
“Not quite. Nothing secretive or ominous, actually. I just know how hard it is to make an honest living these days. So, after I became certified to be a professional trainer, I continued my education. I have a rather interesting résumé. I can get you in shape, get you a massage, and help you rehabilitate should you get injured. I’m sort of a jack-of-all-trades with your body.”
Rick stood up to join him along the railing, but Clint turned suddenly, and they were instantly face-to-face. Their mouths were a mere inch apart from one another as they stood frozen.
“I know we just met, but you seem awfully tense. Maybe you’re always like that. I don’t know. But, if you want.” Rick raised his hands and wiggled his fingers. “I give great massages.”
“I…I should go,” Clint said.
Rick had never been one for patience. When he saw something he wanted, he just went for it. Sure, this method bit him in the ass more times than he could count, but there was something about the man who stood before him which he couldn’t, or didn’t want to, ignore. The look in Clint’s eyes told him there was something there. Even with only the moonlight to illuminate them, he could see the captivation was mutual.
“Are you sure that’s what you want?” he asked while trailing his fingertips along the outer part of Clint’s arm.
He had no idea what the sensation was doing to Clint, but it was driving him insane. There was an electricity to this man, something that made his fingers tingle from the slightest touch.
