Excerpt
The familiar scent of aftershave and leather filled my
senses seconds before a pair of arms encircled my waist.
Brandon.
One hand travelled down my thigh until his fingertips
reached the hem of my denim skirt. He skated along the edge of the fabric,
tugging it up just enough to tease. My senses flared to life as images danced
in my head. His hard length pressed into my backside, and wetness pooled
between my legs. I’d missed him more than I realized.
“What’s a gorgeous woman like you doing alone in a place
like this?” His question caressed my ear.
I leaned back into him, rested my head on his shoulder, and
made sure he saw my exaggerated pout. His cheek against mine—the rough scrape
of two or three days’ worth of stubble—scrapped my skin and erased the rest of
my doubts. “I was waiting for my boyfriend, but I think he stood me up.”
He trailed his lips along my neck, words vibrating against
my skin. “The guy sounds like an ass. You should come home with me instead.”
“I don’t know. He’s pretty tough. Could you take him if you
had to?” I turned to face him, never jarring his hands from my hips and thighs,
and hooked my fingers at the base of his neck. His deeply-muscled chest teased
me through the thin cotton of our T-shirts, and kicked my already careening
imagination up another gear. It was a good thing we didn’t live too far from
the airport.
The corner of his mouth twitched in a familiar, crooked
smile, and he nipped at my bottom lip. “Nope. I’m a lover, not a fighter. But I
can run pretty damn fast.”
