The danger of 50 Shades of Grey by Eva Lefoy

People in the scene either love or hate the 50 shades books. They love them because they have had a hand in making BDSM and kink play more mainstream. They hate them because now every girl on the street wants to have their own Christian. It’s not a new fantasy – the poor girl and the rich man are a tried and true romance trope – but the BDSM arrangement and exploration in the piece are new titillating materials to many readers. However, there’s always danger when dipping one’s toe into new territory, especially when you’re inexperienced.

Now, Brian, who was a jerk to his boyfriend Geoffrey, in Sex, Ties and Videotape, becomes a newly interested submissive in Kink Club Blues. In book III, Dom of Destruction, he finds out he’s not getting what he wants from Gar, his Dom, and flies off the handle. He runs off and into the arms of a bad Dom, who gets off on abusing his subs. During the remainder of the book, he must work out a relationship arrangement with Gar, the Dom he really wants.

By having Brian run into trouble/abuse in the BDSM scene, I’m not saying all BDSM is bad for you or that it’s all abusive. It’s not. But the good relationships – just like any other ones worth keeping – are built on trust and mutual respect. Both parties have to agree on what’s going to happen and then carry out their activities with responsibility. That way, everyone enjoys playtime!

For Brian and Gar, things work out eventually, but both men have to do some self-acceptance and surrendering before they get their happy ending!

Dom of Destruction, book III in the Love Hurts series:
When new and impulsive sub, Brian is injured in a bad scene, the incident opens old wounds for his sometimes-Dom, Gar. While doling out revenge, Gar must come to terms with his fear of relationships and learn the shocking truth about his former lover, Angel.

Meanwhile, Paul’s uncontrolled jealousy of Brian comes to light and Geoffrey threatens to cancel their engagement if he won’t get his anger under control. In different ways the aftermath of the sadistic Dom’s destructive force puts these four men on the track to future happiness, but some will suffer more scars than others.
Warning: The MC in this story is baited into a scene of BDSM play and is abused.

EXCERPT – Geoffrey tires to find out who hurt Brian:

“Did you and Gar have a scene together that night?” Geoffrey watched Brian swallow and wondered what thorny truth he’d gotten caught in his windpipe. This wasn’t the Brian he remembered at all. Brian had never been vulnerable or at a loss for words while they were together. The very idea made him want to snort with derision.

“Yeah. We did.”

“And…?” He felt like a schoolteacher trying to get a kid to confess. “You liked it?”

Brian cleared his throat and nodded.

Paul sucked in a breath and seconds later, the reality hit Geoffrey hard in the gut. Gar wasn’t anything but a Dom. That meant Brian had to be a sub. But Brian? Holy shit, had the world gone batshit crazy?

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Paul scoffed. “You’re a newly turned sub?”

Geoffrey winced at the bitterness in Paul’s tone, but Brian only nodded again, his expression twice as guilty as it had been a moment ago.

“I couldn’t wait to see him again. So I went to the club and…found him with another sub.”

Geoffrey’s heart sank. Brian wasn’t merely the jealous type. He’d practically invented the jealous type. “I’m sorry, Brian. You had hoped you were his only one?”

“I was wrong. Obviously.” Brian turned his head toward the window. His face crinkled up like he might cry, whether from his physical injuries or his emotional ones, Geoffrey didn’t know.

“So, if Gar didn’t do this to you, who did?” Paul rocked back on his heels, waiting for the answer. He appeared ready to pass judgment any second. But on who, the perpetrator, or Brian?

Rubbing his eyes, Geoffrey wished once again that Paul would back off. He felt sorry for his ex, wanted to hold him and tell him sub-to-sub everything would be okay. Paul just didn’t seem to get it and his issues were quickly becoming a problem.

“I left, determined to find a new Dom. I went to my car and pulled up the personal ads. There was this one for two Doms…I texted them, and they texted me back. I went to their house and everything seemed fine. I didn’t know they’d set me up until it was too late.”
